Summary: This position will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerical control machines to manufacture precision components specifically for new projects and complex parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Efficiently complete manufacturing of First Article parts, proactively identifying problems to reduce actual occurrence Identify and implement necessary program modifications Identify and implement necessary machining process changes Work with Process Engineering to optimize machining process and run times Work with Tooling Specialist to optimize tool list for new projects Work with Engineering to identifying complicated dimensions for the development of the In-Process Inspection Sheets Create simple programs using machine controls Support production floor by setting up and manufacturing extremely complex parts when necessary Document all manufactured items and findings Document Lessons Learned during First Article for later implementation on production floor Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures Complete all required processes in ERP systems Provide end of shift report detailing activities of the shift Provide training to CNC Operators and CNC Machinists Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty in an exemplary manner. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED 15 years experience setting up and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines Ability to read technical drawings Understanding of GD&T Experience using measuring tools and gages Experience with Siemens and/or Heidenhain controls Experience with Deckel Maho Gildemeister (DMG) machines Experience with G&M Codes Experience manufacturing parts within the defense and aerospace industry Language Skills Ability to write professionally for multiple outlets that conform to prescribed style and format Ability to communicate effectively in a verbal manner Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Computer Skills Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio) Experience with ERP system Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
